This post came from my second Kickstarter Campaign — and I’m giving it a permanent home here — enjoy!
This is pretty off topic as far as Lulu's concerned, but a milestone in our family's little world — this past week marked our 20th anniversary!
Since the kids were born, we hadn't escaped together for more than a weekend. So, my husband, Kyle, and I packed up and drove south — windows down, music up.
I’d never been to the Florida Keys before, and Kyle hadn’t visited since high school, so it felt like unlocking a new territory together — from pilfering the free hotel breakfast bananas to split with the iguanas (right outside of our room!), to saying hi to a manatee, to spotting a nurse shark, goliath grouper, and some enormous tarpon in a marina, to enjoying my first successful attempt to snorkel (I learned how to swim this summer!) followed, unfortunately, by my first unsuccessful attempt to fight off sea sickness (which ended with me releasing said lobby breakfast starboard), to not-too-competitively comparing who was further along in their book, to watching movies with commercials (who sees commercials anymore?) and, of course, eating lots of sea food — it was an awesome adventure!
Kyle, thanks for making me laugh and think, and for everything we’ve been building together these last two decades. I treasure you and love you beyond words. Mom and Dad, thanks for keeping the kids and Sam — we’re thankful they didn’t eat you alive. And, to all of you, thanks for indulging in a coconut-lime flavored special memory with us — you guys are great!
Activity books should be done this week and the story book either this week or next. Either way we're tracking for a February delivery as promised! Be on the lookout this week because I’ll be reaching out for addresses to ship the goods — more soon!
Here's a few pics for fun :D
